You may recall a bit over a month ago when Arthur shared information with us regarding Ron and the brain that attacked him in the Department of Mysteries last June, belonging to a musician named Azirafelle. Ron has now been informed of the situation, and of whose thoughts and knowledge he is experiencing, and recently Arthur and I met to discuss the next issue at hand - whether we ought to try and use that knowledge currently residing in Ron.

I'm afraid I'm not any kind of expert in the field of Legilimency, but I believe any investigation conducted would have to involve the exploration of Ron's mind. The suggestion currently up for consideration is that he be brought to Grimmauld Place over the summer holiday and interrogated in order for us to possibly learn something further about the Thirteen Treasures through the unexpected knowledge Ron currently possesses.

I must confess I am rather conflicted on this issue. Of course, I believe the decision should be ultimately Ron's to make, as not only is he of age, but it is his mind we will be prodding, no matter whose thoughts we will actually be studying. I can't help but wonder, however, if this kind of personal invasion is truly necessary. And I do not want to put Ron into a position where he feels he has to agree to this.

Any thoughts or insight would be greatly appreciated.

So far my sources haven't come up with anything. I've been a bit bogged down in the office, so I haven't had the chance to check in with Kingsley to see if he knows anything. Has anyone else heard word? Rumours? Speculation? Any news at all with a bit of merit to it?

The election for Minister for Magic is less than two months away now and no potential candidates have come forward. I admit that I am nervous, as I certainly do not want someone with similar views and ideology as Cornelius Fudge in office. I have to talk things over with Molly, but I have been considering the possibility that perhaps I ought to run for the position. It would be a long shot, of course, but I can't help but to think that people might be inclined to listen to reason if it is presented to them on their level, not fancied up as Fudge often did.

At any rate, does anyone have news?

Remus, I should like to meet with you some time this week to discuss a few things, if you are free.

A bit of a conundrum, I'm afraid I find myself in.

As most of you are aware, Ron has been having problems ever since that debacle at the Department of Mysteries last Spring. He was attacked by one of the brains in the large tank kept there and has been experiencing strange things that are directly related to that brain. He finds himself knowing things that he has not been yet taught, such as advanced charms and so forth. Moreover, he has gained a knowledge of music that is rather astonishing.

Ron asked me months ago to look into this and find out to whom the brain belonged. I think it would comfort him if he knew whose thoughts and knowledge are now mixed in with his.

It has been a difficult task, but I have finally managed to learn whose brain it was that attacked my son and scarred him. I have a source in the Department of Mysteries and the source has now given me enough information to conclude just whose thoughts Ron is dealing with. This should also be of interest to the Order, as the brain belonged to Azirafelle.

Azirafelle was a musician in King Arthur's court. He was rather famous for finding and playing the famed crystal flute that had once belonged to Puck. You will all remember that the crystal flute, which can lull everyone within earshot into an enchanted sleep that lasts for several hours, is one of the Thirteen Treasures. It was stolen by Peter Pettigrew only months earlier, then recovered by the Ministry of Magic.

Now I ask of you, how much of this information can I share with Ron? Does anyone think it would be worthwhile to prod his mind to see if this Azirafelle's thoughts can come to the forefront? The brooch belonging to Rowena Ravenclaw has already been stolen. The flute nearly was as well. I don't think this was a coincidence. Clearly these items are of interest to the other side, and we should, in my opinion, try to learn as much about the remaining items as possible.

Now that my mother's old house is somewhat hospitable again, Remus and I have been doing a lot of digging though the old library and through a lot of the piles of boxes in the attic. Father always kept an extensive book collection, with a special interest in History of Magic. I thought the library was packed as it was, but it turns out there were crates and trunks of books upstairs that hadn't seen the light of day in a couple decades.

(By the way, really old and partially rotten books? Dead disgusting.)

Anyway, we've come across a few interesting references to the Thirteen Treasures, though none of them were in any way complete. I'm inclined to trust two of the references as they include information about the items Voldemort has already stolen or attempted to steal. Most scholars seem to think that there is an item among the thirteen for each of the Founders; this makes sense with what we know already, with Rowena Ravenclaw's brooch (which the Death Eaters still have), and the fact that Dumbledore has the Sword of Gryffindor in his office. (Minerva, he still has it, doesn't he? We should assume until we know otherwise that the Sword is one of the Treasures and take the necessary precautions). That means there are two other Founder-related items out there we should be on the lookout for.

Remus has made some quiet enquiries among some of the more prominent collectors of wizarding antiquities and rare book dealers and no one seems to have any other valuable items belonging to the Founders in any of their collections. Going off what we know of the Founders in general, I'm guessing that the female Founders' Treasures are some sort of jewelry and the male Founders' Treasures are weaponry; this fits with the Brooch and the Sword (if the Sword is a Treasure).

As far as the other Treasures... well, we don't have definite information about any of them. The Ministry still has the crystal flute, which no one has any information about. The rest of the Treasures seem to be very ordinary items that wouldn't at first catch your eye; cups, armor, cauldrons, a chessboard, things of that sort. But without knowing what they do or having any kind of description for them, they could be anything at all.

If anyone would like to stop by and help us dig through the books, you're more than welcome. I've taken on a part time job with the WCN, starting next week, and it'll cut a little into the time I have to search the house, but I think it'll be useful in building connections.

For your information and notifications, our season resumes this weekend and I will be traveling quite a bit. I am posting an itinerary here, so that you know where I will be through the end of February. If there is anything that needs to be done in any of the following cities, please let me know. I am willing to carry out any task to which you assign me.

Jan 22/23: Flanders, Belgium

Jan 29/30: Heidelberg, Germany

Feb 5/6: Sofia, Bulgaria

Feb 12/13: Karasjok, Norway

Feb 19/20: Appleby, Britain

Feb 26/27: Sofia, Bulgaria

My travels after this point will depend on the outcome of the above matches, as we move into the European League Championship playoffs. I will update you in the future on this.

Karkaroff's death. Is there any word on who is responsible?

Remus: I'll be sure to be at that there Ordery meeting tomorrow night at 8 sharp-like! Ded's surely ready to map out important STUFFS!

But before we haves that little meeting, I've a little important thing that ought to be discussed:

Has everyone see THE PAPERS this morning?

Krummy, what happened, boyo? T'isn't good for Ordery people to draw attention to themselves like that. Self-control is important! Jonesy is a right calm bird; maybe she could teach you some lessons!

Jonesy's a busy bird. Maybe the likes of me can help you or even the Figgy. Figgy's old and unattractive and has the self-control thing right down. I'll send her an owl for you!

But right then, Krummy! Not good for Ordery business, understand? I'm sure the rest of the lot'll tell you the same old same old as well.

There will be an Order meeting this Friday evening at 8pm.

We're no longer using Grimmauld Place as a headquarters while it is in... well, in pieces. Instead, the house Sirius and I are staying in will serve as our meeting place.

All members of the Order must attend this meeting. It is imperative that you do so as we will be mapping out our strategy for the new year. I have assignments and missions for all of you, things that need to be done sooner rather than later - and before Voldemort can think to do it.

The house is at Number 7 Abbey Road, in St Johns Wood. You'll all be receiving owls with this information from our Secret Keeper - otherwise you'll not be able to find us!

Got to go - Sirius has gone trotting across the zebra crossing again. I never should have let Lily lend him that record. He's bound to lose a toe at this rate.
